I’m excited to introduce you to Philip, because he’s someone who has really inspired me on my health journey.

A little bit of background information on me.

I Was a Chubby Kid

I am someone who has struggled with my weight ever since I was 8 years old. I didn’t eat differently than all the other kids. I swam, rode my bike, was on the basketball team which meant a whole lotta running, and climbed trees. I basically ate right and exercised but I was still a chubby kid.

As I got older, chubby turned to down-right fat. No matter what I did, how I ate or how much I moved my body, it was all just an enormous struggle for me.

I Tried Every Diet You Can Imagine

As I got older, like many people, I tried various diets and exercise plans. I did Taebo, became Vegan, switched to Atkins, did boxing and Pilates, bought a treadmill and cut out all dairy. And I actively participated in these trials. I didn’t just buy the treadmill and let it sit there collecting dust. I used it.

And although certain diets and plans brought me certain amounts of success, at the end of the day I still was carrying around extra weight – or worse – flab – and just generally felt tired and depressed.

I Learned About Juice Cleansing

Cut to the day I first heard about juice fasting It was actually for a colon cleanse and I decided to try it as colon cancer runs in my family and I was scared that developing it myself one day was inevitable. I went on the 5 day juice fast not intending to experience any sort of wonderful result, except cleaning out my colon.

Holy Crud, I Looked and Felt Amazing

Well, it was the first time in my life I felt what other people must have felt when they talked about “vitality.” I felt energy I had never experienced before. After just 3 days my mood went from being very dark (oh, yeah, I have also suffered from depression since my teens) to light and by the end of the fast my stomach was flatter, my skin looked great and I just felt like a different person.

What the heck had happened? This initial fast made me look into juice cleanses more and I started incorporating them into my life on a regular basis. I would say 2 – 3 times a year I would perform a (usually) 10 day juice cleanse. This helped me to finally lose ALL of the weight and maintain it throughout the year. y energy remained high, as did my mood, and my health in general was at its peak. Now mind you, after these cleanses I didn’t go back to eating fast food and crap, but continued to make sure fruits and vegetable were a BIG part of my diet.

Anyway, let me bring you up to my recent life…

Life Got Hard and I Gained The Weight Back

About a year ago I was in one of the biggest and darkest periods of my life. My mother had just died, finances were bleak, I had moved and was away from friends and feeling isolated and lonely. All of this stress made me make deplorable food choices, and before I knew it, I had gained the 20 pounds back that I had originally lost years ago. And I was tired. God, was I so so tired, all of the time.

I knew I needed help and I knew that help wasn’t a shrink or a happy pill or a new fandangled diet program. I was in desperate need of a juice fast, to purge my body of all the garbage and toxins, both physical and emotional, that I had stored up over a two year period of stress and misery.

In the past I had usually made up the cleanse as I went along, making up juice recipes on the spot. But this time I was more fragile and needed someone to just tell em what to do.

I Needed Help Big Time – Then I “Met” Philip

That’s when I met Phil. In researching juice cleanses I found his blog and was instantly taken with him and his story. Here was a guy who used juice to lose 215 pounds. His before picture showed a very large and unhappy young man, trying to smile for the picture, but you could read the pain and frustration on his face. How to Lose Weight in a Week? Try a Juice Diet Plan!

juice diet planWithout question the fastest and easiest way to lose weight in one week is to go on a juice cleanse. I tell you this from experience.

I want to start this post by dissecting the various ways people are actually overweight. The reason for this is so many people think of being fat as having too much fat on your body. But a majority of people, especially those who find themselves consistently 10-15 pounds overweight are, in actuality, bloated. This is a result from a combination of things, mostly not drinking enough water and eating processed food – carbs are the main culprit – that send signals to your body to hold on to the water.

So, when you go on a juice diet, your body is being properly hydrated, for one, and is being flooded with nutrients that actually feed your cells. This allows your body to happily release the water it’s been holding onto and you can quickly drop 7 – 10 pounds. Clothes will fit better and you will look like a different person just from drinking freshly squeezed fruit and vegetable juice for a week.

Does Juicing Really Help You Lose Weight?

Okay, this question is currently being asked a lot around the internet, most likely because there is such a plethora of misinformation and hype online about this subject. And most of this information and hype is generated by people who have never tried juicing in their life. They’re just trying to sell you something.

As someone who has been juicing for over a decade and who has recently completed an amazing 30 day juice diet cleanse, I can tell you from my heart and from my personal experience that juicing does in fact help you lose weight. In fact, I will admit that in the last couple of years I let some of my good nutritional habits – and exercise habits – go completely out the door. Sometimes when life gets hard and stressful, we take it out on our bodies.

Anyway, I had gained some weight over the last couple of years and many of my clothes, in particular a pair of nice dark blue cords (size 6) I love, simply didn’t fit. I could force the zipper up, you know when you have to pull so hard that the zipper cuts into your fingers? And then forget about it, you can’t sit in the pants because they’re so tight they cut into your internal organs. And you have to wear a long shirt to cover the fact the button isn’t buttoned. Are you with me – have you had this pants situation before?

So these pants I love just wouldn’t fit. Like I said I recently completed my 30 day cleanse and one of the first things I attempted on day 31 was to put those pants on. I could have shed a tear when I easily slid them up, zippered AND buttoned them like it was nothing. And then I sat down in them. Comfortably. I actually took my pants for a long drive because I just wanted to sit in them for awhile. Silly I know, but it’s true.

But the pants wasn’t the only bonus of my juice diet cleanse. I felt strong, I felt alive, I felt happier than I had in a long time, and people kept asking me about my skin.

So to answer the question Does Juicing Really Help You Lose Weight – without question yes it does. I’m living proof of how amazing juicing really is. It can truly transform your body and your mind and heart. And, depending on how long you choose to do a juice diet, you can lose anywhere from 5 – 15 pounds. Some of that weight will be water weight, which is wonderful because so many people are simply bloated.

Some of that weight will be from your body getting rid of stored waste. And finally, if you do an extended diet cleanse, some of that weight will be shed fat.

My hope is that some day I can create my own juice diet plan for people to follow but I haven’t quite gotten there yet. My Latest Juice Fast Made My Pants Finally Fit!

juice diet planJust a quick post today to tell you about something that is making me dance on air. I have had a pair of pants that have been so tight they were uncomfortable to even attempt to wear. But, I put them on today and they fit perfectly. I’m so happy I could cry. How did this come about?

Well, I had planned a 10 day juice cleanse but by day ten was feeling so amazing that I decided to go for 21 days. 21 came around and I was feeling so amazing, and had noticed some incredible weight loss, that I decided to go for 30 days. I stayed active, nothing too extreme, a lot of walking my dogs, I have four so we would all go on long hikes every day.

3 – 5 Days

People who can sustain a fast from 3 – 5 days will see and feel more benefits. In this time frame people can lose weight, but it’s mostly water weight – but that’s fine. Many people are simply bloated from retaining so much water, so a 3-5 day fast will help clothes to fit better and make your face noticeably slimmer. You will also feel a burst of energy and have more mental clarity, even after just a few days.

5 – 7 Days

If you can sustain your fast for this length of time, you will see and feel even more results. During this time you will increase your energy and clear thinking, and you will experience even more weight loss, both water weight and, how do I say this, well, you will actually lose pounds of solid waste. yes, you heard me right. A juice fast will completely clean you out and let me tell you, you can drop pounds from this. The combination of water loss and solid loss makes you feel so much lighter and your stomach really flattens out. 7 – 10 Days

Losing Weight is Not about Being Perfect

If you’re thinking about doing a juice diet I want to encourage you, because I personally think (no, I know) juice fasts have been responsible for me losing weight (and keeping it off), giving me my energy and clarity back, and giving me the skin of a 10 year old, and they can do the same for you.

You’ve got to prepare and be in the right, positive frame of mind for a juice cleanse, or you’ll find yourself struggling through it. One of the most important things to get straight in your mind is to realize doing a juice fast is not about being perfect. There is no perfect way to do one, each cleanse is actually a very personal journey.

Take each day at a time and simply do the best you can do that day. Let go of this idea of doing something right or wrong or perfectly.

Perfect is not reality.

Trying to be perfect in any way is toxic. And this whole juice diet is not just about losing weight, it’s about getting rid of all the toxins in our lives, physically, mentally and emotionally.

So, start juicing and loving your life again, and leave all thought or attempts of perfection behind you.

How a Juice Fast Can Change Your Life

Tired of being tired, tired of feeling foggy headed all of the time, tired of disease and inflammation ravaging your body, tired of how you look, tired of not having any clarity or confidence, and tired of feeling addicted to food. The good news is you are on the right path. In my personal life I have found no other practice that has brought me so many benefits. I have struggled with my weight since I was 8 years old, and I have also struggled from depression since a teenager.
